The Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education and the University of Tromso are pleased to invite you to a joint conference in Tromso, 21 – 23 January 2009.

The conference aims to further develop educational cooperation in the High North, and will focus on a broad spectre of best practices, especially involving institutions in the Nordic countries, North America and Northern Russia.

Main themes are:

• Challenges and opportunities related to developing joint study programmes
• Higher education in between political priorities and the business world
• Resource management: Challenging nature, society and indigenous communities

Among the speakers are representatives from the University of the Arctic and the International Association of Universities, as well as a number of leading academics from various universities in USA, Canada, Russia and the Nordic countries.

There will be presentations in plenary and workshops presenting ongoing cooperation projects between Scandinavian and foreign actors.
